Medical Terminology is a language all of its own. We will learn the foundation in understanding healthcare. My expectations of students for this course are that students learn how to piece words together, have an overview of human anatomy and physiology, gain knowledge of various diseases and conditions, and become familiarized with medical abbreviations used throughout the healthcare setting.

Principles of Health Science will provide an overview of the therapeutic, diagnostic, health informatics, support services, and biotechnology research and development systems of the health care industry. My expectation of students for this course are that students incorporate Medical Terminology knowledge and add to the existing foundation of the health care setting.

About me... This school year is my first year at Clark High School, at NISD for that matter. I spent two years at Edgewood Independent School District where I was a Health Science Teacher at Memorial High School. I transitioned to education after 19+ years in different avenues of the pharmaceutical industry. I attained my undergraduate degree with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. I also have a national certification and a state registration as a pharmacy technician. I spent years in pharmaceuticals and I now want to share my first hand experiences and knowledge with my students.
