Our mission statement:
'Inspiring paediatric trainees to advance the care of children through research'

PenTRAIN is a trainee-led, group aiming to promote research interest and skills among paediatric trainees in the South West Peninsula. It aims to address the problem that trainees rotate frequently and the research cycle is long.

Our Aims:
  1. We aim to be an accessible gateway into research for paediatric trainees across the Peninsula region.
  2. We aim to share and publish high quality research, audit and quality improvement work.
  3. We aim to collaborate with other regional and national networks
  4. We aim to signpost educational and training opportunities in research

The South West Peninsula is an area covered by Health Education South West and including between 50-70 trainees. It includes hospitals in Devon (Barnstaple, Exeter, Plymouth, Torbay) and Cornwall (Truro). Trainees also rotate to Bristol, within Severn Deanery in ST6 and ST7.
