It's time for the Decoto School for Independent Study Third Annual Reading Challenge! This challenge begins and will run through the end of April. ALL READING COUNTS (with the exception of Facebook and Twitter feeds) and can include articles, magazines, listening to audiobooks, graphic novels, blogs, text books, Edgenuity, etc., so EVERYONE CAN PARTICIPATE! Track your pages read for the duration of the reading challenge on this Google Form. The student with the most pages read (personal and school reading) will win a Kindle Fire! Second and Third places will win gift certificates. There will be an additional prize for whoever beats the Decoto Staff person with the most pages read and everyone who participates will be recognized! Mandatory Orientation Meeting for ALL Independent Study Students and Parent/Guardian.
Grades 6 - 8: 5:30 PM in Rm 7.
Grades 9 -12: 6:00 PM in the MPR.
Students MUST bring their charged Chromebook to the Orientation
The 2015 Graduation Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 3 at 7:00 PM in the MPR. Graduates participating in the ceremony should arrive by 6:30 PM.
Caps & Gowns will be delivered to Decoto School at 1:30 PM at the MPR on Tuesday, June 2 right before graduation rehearsal.
The 2015 Graduation Rehearsal is Tuesday, June 2 at 2:00 in the MPR. You must attend the rehearsal to participate in the graduation ceremony.
The SBAC California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) testing is coming up in April and May for Grades 3 -8, and 11. The CST Science test for 5th, 8th, and 10th graders is also in April. Students MUST Bring their Charged Chromebooks. Please see the testing schedule here: SBAC/CAASPP Schedule

6:30 Student Success Parent Support Workshop - learn how you can better support your student be more successful in independent study.
Decoto cares is a donation drive for our community. Students will be putting together “Decoto care(s) packages” which will be distributed to local organizations. Here are some of the items we need by Friday December 12:
-individually wrapped soaps
-tissue packs -toothbrushes
-travel-sized lotions, shampoos, conditioners
Students will be putting bags together December 16-18 at DecotoSchool. Students who participate will receive community service hours.
