About Us

NHS Friends of Music, Inc. (FOM) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in Needham, Massachusetts.  Our financial support includes educational scholarships and awards to seniors, grants for students, travel assistance to music program opportunities, and funds for uniforms and tuxedos. Our volunteer efforts vary from organizing fundraisers, to hosting annual social events for the entire NHS music community, to providing pizza for students before performances and baked goods for families after concerts.

We work closely with the faculty in the Fine and Performing Arts Department of the Needham Public School to provide the needed support required by Symphonic, Concert and Marching Bands, Color Guard, Chorus, String Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Chorale and the Annual Musicals. Our efforts and activities are guided by our mission:
  • To promote performing arts opportunities at Needham High School by supporting and enriching curricula and extracurricular programs, while championing the success of the students they benefit.
  • To foster an engaged community of families, educators and students committed to sustaining the vitality and excellence of performing arts offerings at Needham High School.
