The Role of  the NHSD Library-Media Specialist: 


The teaching roles of library media specialist have grown in importance given the complexities of  new technologies and the need for students to access and utilize the wealth of information available.  The library media specialist enables students to make use of computers and other technologies as tools for  improving productivity and performance while enhancing the learning experience.  

  Through the guidance of the library-media specialist, students become active and thoughtful readers and researchers. As librarians, we provide opportunities for students to learn about literature, build their literary histories and discover new possibilities for independent reading and research.

 



The NHSD technology curriculum helps students develop and apply technology skills to enhance learning across core subject areas.  The technology curriculum at NHSD is aligned to the ISTE-NETS-S technology standards.
