A developmental school counseling program is an integral part of a student's educational program and is important to every student's academic success. The program is not only preventative, but proactive in nature designed to teach all students.
The purpose of the middle school counseling program is to provide all students an opportunity to further develop their social/emotional growth, academic success and career exploration.
As a school counselor I work in collaboration with administration, faculty, parents, and the community to build a scaffolding of knowledge and skills that provide high academic performance, effective decision making, and positive self esteem that will continue throughout the life span.
