Math Resources from PBS Learning Media

"...perseverance is not a characteristic reserved for a special few, but something that all mathematics students can develop, practice, and improve."

Keep Going! Building a Culture of Perseverance in Math Classrooms is a collection of new professional development resources supporting the development of perseverance in the high school math class. Produced by WGBH and available free on PBS LearningMedia, this collection models strategies to help teachers support students' understanding that when they persevere, they are growing, and when they struggle, they are getting smarter and becoming more resourceful mathematical problem solvers.

These resources can help teachers understand and implement the Problem Solving and Perseverance standard from the Common Core Standards for Mathematical Practice, or simply just support perseverance in the math class.

A related collection, Making the Case, helps teachers support students as they construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others, or implementing the Argumentation and Critique standard.
