Go Screaming Eagles!

Welcome to American History I and II

Introduction:
Welcome to Mrs. Wilkinson's American History I and American History II class! Join me as we go through America’s history, the good, the bad, and the ugly. First semester we start off our journey learning about Native Americans before European settlers and we will complete the semester with the Civil War. If you are joining us for second semester we will continue our story at the time of the Reconstruction period (post Civil War). Our goal for second semester is to end at 9/11. Our main objective during this course is to learn about our nation's past, learn from our forefathers' mistakes and build on their triumphs. America is known to be the world's melting pot, and during this course we'll learn about the diversity and cultures that came together to create this beautiful country we call home. I’m excited to be a part of this journey with you and hope you find this course as much fun as I do!

A little about me:
This is my second year teaching history at Eugene Ashley High School, go Screaming Eagles! I'm originally from Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!) I moved to Wilmington in 2016 with my husband and our son! I love travelling, reading, art, playing pirates with my four year old and of course all things history!

Education: I graduated from high school in 2009, received my AA degree from Indian Hills Community College in 2011, and graduated with my BA in secondary education and history in 2016. Between my AA and BA I took two years off to travel Europe and the States and explore just a small part of the wonderful world we live in!
