Welcome to Mrs. Wilkinson's class!

Join me as we journey through World history.
We will learn about the good, the bad, and the ugly and have fun along the way!

You will be able to find resources and a rough outline of our course work on this site.

We'll dive into the past to find out what makes the world, our world, go around. We'll discuss the movements and the moments that has inspired humans to create the lives we live and have become accustomed to (for better or worse).

I’m excited to be a part of this journey with you and hope you find history as much fun as I do!

1. Be Respectful

Our classroom is a community, every member of this community will give and receive their fellow classmates respect. If for some reason you feel that you are not able to do so please come and talk to me so the issue can be resolved peacefully and immediately.

2. Be Responsible

As young adults, YOU are responsible for having your materials with you each day, turning your assignments in when they are due, and coming in after school to get any work that you missed if you were absent from class.

Materials:

A little about me:

This is my eighth year teaching history at Eugene Ashley High School, go Screaming Eagles! I'm originally from Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!), I moved to Wilmington in 2016 with my husband and our son, Zachary.

I love traveling, reading, paddle boarding, art, music, and going on adventures with my 10 year old and of course all things history!

Education:  I hold an Associates of Arts from Indian Hills Community College, a B.A. in Secondary Education with a minor in history from Buena Vista University, and an M.A. in History from the University of North Carolina Wilmington!

Between my AA and BA I took two years off to travel and live in Europe. Each new place and culture I experienced helps me to have a deeper understanding and appreciation for the world we live in and the people who inhabit it. History helps us understand complex questions by examining how the past has shaped (and continues to shape) global, national, and local relationships between societies and people.

The board provides its students and staff access to a variety of technological resources.  These resources provide opportunities to enhance learning, appeal to different learning styles, improve communication within the school community and with the larger global community, and achieve the educational goals established by the board.  Through the school system’s technological resources, users can observe events as they occur around the world, interact with others on a variety of subjects, and acquire access to current and in-depth information.

The board intends that students and employees benefit from these resources while remaining within the bounds of safe, legal, and responsible use.  Accordingly, the board establishes this policy to govern student and employee use of school system technological resources.  This policy applies regardless of whether such use occurs on or off school system property, and it applies to all school system technological resources, including but not limited to computer networks and connections, the resources, tools, and learning environments made available by or on the networks, and all devices that connect to those networks.
