Hello, and welcome to the 6th Grade. I am Mr. Lucca, your social studies teacher. I am excited to meet everyone and I am excited to work with you all. I do my best to give you the tools to have a successful school year, but it is up to you to use those resources and ask questions when you need help. This year you will learn about fascinating time periods, world events. We will use primary sources and consider all sides of issues to fully understand a past event or situation. This year you will learn to use various sources to explain your point of view and show your understanding of historical events.
I do not assign homework, however any late or missing work should be considered homework. We will be working on many in-class assignments. Make sure you are using class time properly, in the past students that did not begin assignments in class fell behind in their work. I encourage every student to try their best and ask questions if they do not understand any directions.

If you miss a day of school, you should:

Everyday you need paper to write on, a pen or pencil to write with and a folder to keep your work. You will also need colored pencils and a book to read if you finish your work early.
