Wrestling - Scholar Athlete Team

posted Mar 15, 2017, 7:52 AM by Jeffrey Jones

Coach Dan Willis said...

"I just want to take a minute to brag on our Laney Wrestlers for what they do "off the mat".

This team was not only a State Runner-up Team this season, but they are also a Scholar Athlete Team (for the second consecutive season)!

This means that the average Team 'unweighted' GPA of the 31 wrestlers who received a Varsity letter was over a 3.1 (3.235 to be exact).

21 out of 31 wrestlers were Individual Scholar Athletes with at least a 3.5 weighted GPA!

As if wrestling wasn't tough enough, I am in awe of these kids for their commitment and work on and off the mat."
