Here is a letter that was emailed to parents last year...

Your child has registered and paid to take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 11, 2017. Students will test at Laney High School in several different locations. Please note the testing assignments below:
  • Students with Last Names A-D will test in room 115C
  • Students with Last Names E-STO will test in the Media Center
  • Students with Last Names STRI-Z will test in room 144T
Testing will begin at 8:30am and students should report directly to their testing sites the morning of October 11th. Student practice books and study guides were distributed last week to registered students. If your child did not receive a practice book (or he or she received two practice books) please see Mrs. Jeffrey in the media center room 401. Students may also practice online @ https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt-psat-10/practice.

Paper and pencils will be provided the day of testing, but students should plan to bring their own calculators. For a list of acceptable calculators, please visit the website @ https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt-psat-10/taking-the-tests/test-day-checklist/approved-calculators Students may also download the PSAT Study Guide at that site as well. If you are unable to provide a calculator for your child that day, we may have a limited number of calculators available for your child on the day of testing.

Please plan for testing to take approximately 3 hours. Students will be excused from their missed classes during the testing period. However, if your child is currently taking CFCC courses and will miss one or more CFCC courses to take the PSAT, it is the responsibility of the student to notify their college instructors PRIOR to October 11th. It is up to the discretion of the college instructor as to whether they allow students to miss their college class. Please note that most college instructors do allow students to miss class to take the PSAT.

If your child has decided not to take the PSAT at Laney on October 11th, please contact me immediately. I have over 15 students on the wait list to take the PSAT.

Thank you!
