I am so excited to be your child's first grade teacher!

First grade is such a magical time in a child's life and I consider it an honor to be part of it!

Thank you for sharing your child with me!

Let me tell you a little bit about myself...

I graduated from UNCW with a Bachelor's degree in Education in May of 1994. Two months later, I got married to my husband Brad and over the next three years we welcomed three beautiful children into our lives.  I taught 6th grade for one year and then become a stay-at-home mommy when my first child was born.  I loved staying home with my children and would not have missed our time together for anything in the world, but I did miss teaching very much!  I am so happy to have joined the Bradley Creek family 12 years ago and feel very blessed to be given the opportunity to do what I love each and every day!

My oldest son, Parker, graduated from Appalachian State in May and is now a brewer at Wilmington Brewing Company. My middle son, Mason, is a junior at UNC-Charlotte studying marketing and Gracie, my baby, is a sophomore at UNC-Chapel Hill with dreams of becoming a biomedical engineer.  They are still the light of my life, but old enough now to share me with all of my "other children" at Bradley Creek.

Your child is special, rare, and unique!  I want them to LOVE first grade and come away with positive memories for a lifetime!  They should be happy and feel good about themselves and school.  We want them to have a love of books and a desire to read for entertainment.  To achieve these goals, we need the support and understanding of their parents.  Please never hesitate to call or send us a note or email if you have ANY questions, concerns or feedback throughout the year.

I want this to be an extra FANTASTIC year in your child's life!

We will follow the First Grade North Carolina Common Core and Essential Standards Curriculum by teaching students in whole groups, small groups, and one-on-one.
We will differentiate instruction by creating flexible groups                                        in order to meet the needs of all children.
