Hello Mighty Mustangs!
Let me start by telling you a little bit about myself. I'm originally from Long Island, New York where I worked in the advertising and marketing field for several years before realizing my true calling to become a teacher. So I went back to school and earned my Masters Degree in Elementary Education. After teaching second and third grade in New York, my family and I moved to Wilmington in 2001 where I taught kindergarten and third grade at Wrightsboro before becoming an MTSS Coordinator and joining the Forest Hills Global family in 2016. In 2017 I earned my National Board Certification in Early Childhood.
As an MTSS Coordinator, I work closely with our dedicated teachers across all grade levels to help identify student academic and behavioral needs and plan intervention support to meet individual learning goals and to maximize growth. I also facilitate a community reading volunteer program to help grow our younger readers. If you are interested in participating, please feel free to contact me. I love collaborating and learning with our Mighty Mustang staff, families and community members in support of our students!
On a personal note, my husband and I are currently enjoying life as "empty nesters". My daughter Julia is a senior at NYU and my son Robert graduated from ECU. When I'm not busy at school, we enjoy taking walks and bike rides at the beach with our dog Jessie, going to concerts, playing corn hole and cheering for my favorite teams....Go Yankees and ECU Pirates!
