WELCOME TO MURRAY THEATRE for 2026-2027 School Year!
CLASS INFORMATION AND AFTER-SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES!

Class Title: Theatre/Creative Dramatics (6-8 Grade)
Teacher Name: Hilary Peoples
Class Description/Grade Level: 6th, 7th, and 8th grades explore the following on different levels: Improvisation, scriptwriting, vocabulary, history, genres, critique of playwrights, film analysis, technical theatre, acting, rehearsing, directing, and the production process.
We also have after-school opportunities for all students in our Fall play and Spring musical productions.
Supplies: Students will need a school laptop daily! Other supplies may be needed at a later date; students will get ample notice for costumes, props, etc... My goal is that every student gets a chance to experience and enjoy the many aspects of theater.

ABOUT ME!
With more than 25 years of experience as a middle school theatre educator, I am passionate about inspiring creativity, building confidence, and helping students discover their unique voices. I hold two master's degrees in education and have spent my career creating meaningful, engaging, and inclusive learning experiences through the arts. Beyond the classroom, I have worked at a farm day camp for more than 20 years and am also involved with a local plant shop, where I continue to share my love of nature, community, and hands-on learning. When I'm not teaching, you'll likely find me near the water, enjoying the ocean or spending time kayaking.
