CFCC Dual Enrollment

Career and College Promise Program

The Career & College Promise program is for qualified high school juniors and seniors who want to begin their two or four year college work, tuition free, while they are in high school (allowing the student to get a head start on their workplace and college preparation).  The program is through a partnership with Cape Fear Community College.  Eligibility requirements are different depending on the program/pathway of interests.  There are forty-one (41) CTE certificate programs and five (5) College Transfer Pathways.  For additional information, please stop by to see your assigned counselor in Student Services.

Process for Applying for Dual Enrollment:

1. Make an appointment with your assigned counselor (College Transfer Programs) or Mrs. Pridgen (CTE Programs) in Student Services to determine eligibility.

  • If eligible with both GPA and Test Scores, you will fill out an online application and be given an approval form.
  • If you are not eligible, we will discuss what you need to complete to become eligible.
  • To be approved for the College Transfer Pathways, you must meet the following requirements:
      • Be a high school junior or senior when CFCC classes begin;
      • Have a weighted high school GPA of 3.0 or higher;
      • Demonstrate College Readiness in English, Reading, and Math on a college placement test.
  • You also have the option for the Career and Technical Pathways.  Many do not have the testing requirements of the College Transfer Program.  Please visit this site for more information or see Ms. Pridgen.
