Thank you to everyone who has supported the MAD Boosters this past year! We have been able to purchase a marimba, gong, and chimes this year.

The chimes were just delivered last week! A big thank you to Bridgett Randloph and Palen Music Center for delivering them and even helping to set them up!

CMU Woodwind Invitational

posted Feb 23, 2017, 9:15 AM by Lisa Dobbs   [ updated Mar 3, 2017, 1:09 PM ]

A few of our woodwind HS band members went to CMU. They spent all day rehearsing with other musicians for a concert at the end of the day, and got help from CMU music students and professors. We were honored to be there, and we learned so much, plus the lunch was great! We hope to return in another two years.

This year we were invited to go to CAC Honor Choir. Throughout the day we enjoyed singing, meeting other schools, and talking to one another. With many serious moments during the day, we still made time to have fun.

This year we placed 7th out of 14 in class 1A at CMU Band Day with a record setting 56 bands participating all together! As a band I am super excited we are starting to play as a whole and learning to listen to each other. This was the first time I felt we really participated together and it really showed as we were all in step. Oh no, other bands! You're in treble! New Franklin band is coming back better than ever!

CMU Vocal Workshop!

This year we were invited to CMU for an amazing vocal workshop. We got to sing with the CMU Choir which was a really fun experience! Danin and Gabby got help from Dr. Duggan to improve their solos and some CMU student gave advice for picking colleges. We also participated in a really fun warm up where the CMU singers were excited to help us improve our vocal skills. We all had a really good time and are ecstatic to participate again next year!

Mizzou Band Day!

We were invited again this year to join Marching Mizzou and eighteen other high-school bands on the Mizzou campus to perform during half-time of their first football game of the season. It was so much fun getting to represent our school, learn from Marching Mizzou, eat pizza, make friends, and watch the football game! Plus, this year was the first we had our full color guard!
