Welcome to our physical education website where we showcase all the great activities that are taking play during physical education. The students at Jefferson Elementary are on a rotating schedule, where each class receives four 30 minute sessions every 7 school days. Please be sure to check when your child will have physical education or check the schedule on our website.
Here at Jefferson Elementary we strive to have all students actively participating in physical education activities. Our goal in physical education is that our students improve their overall fitness levels and individual motor skill; along with developing personal qualities of team work, discipline, responsibility, fair play, and sportsmanship while participating in a fun and safe environment. Students will be able to participate fully in all our activities when they are dressed appropriately. We are concerned with your child's safety; therefore, we ask that all students must wear athletic shoes during physical education. Shoes should be either tie or velcro, and a snug fit always seems to work better. Inadequate dress may increase the risk of accidents and may even cause your child to have to sit out during class. Boots, sandals, crocs, and shoes with heels make it difficult for children to participate safely.
If at any time your child is unable to participate in physical education because of sickness or injury, please send a note with your child. If a long-term illness occurs or there is an existing medical concern, please share details with your physical education teacher.
As always, safety is of utmost importance during physical education. Each child will be expected to follow directions and work with others in the safest, most cooperative ways possible.
We take great pride in our program and are committed to giving the students the best instruction possible. We look forward to a wonderful year with all of our students and we are excited to watch our students interact and grow. Please do not hesitate to contact us via email or by phone if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for all your continued support and involvement in your child's education, you make Jefferson Elementary a great place to be!
