COURSE SCHEDULING:

o    This is a helpful cheat-sheet your Middle School Counselors will use to make your recommendations for Freshman year; 

  •         Check out our "Program of Studies" page and                the 4 Year Plan Worksheet:

o    This is where you should go to see a complete listing of all the courses the High School offers, as well course descriptions, prerequisites and other helpful information.

o    If you are interested in STEM, we offer Honors Introduction to Engineering Design and Biomedical Science.  Both of these courses have an application, which is available at the Course Selection meeting in March with the NHS counselor and is due by the end of March.  Please click on the Program of Studies (above) for more information about these classes.

                        


ACADEMIC PATHWAYS AND PROGRAMS:
Freshman Electives: (These courses do not replace IPES or Honors Biology)
•  Introduction to Engineering Design (IED)
        o This course is suited for highly motivated students                     who can think analytically, identify and solve                             problems, and plan to pursue science and                                  engineering in high school, college, and beyond.
         o Prerequisite: Department approval based on students             completing an application and submitting it to their                 NHS school counselor. Students may not override                  into this course. (Open to Freshmen only).  Students              who take IED must also take Honors Biology and                     Honors Algebra II or a higher math course).
•  Principles of Biomedical Science (PBS)
         o This course is suited for highly motivated students                     who can think analytically, identify and solve                             problems, and plan to pursue careers in health care.
         o Prerequisite: No application needed.  Students can                 either be in IPES or Bio (doesn't need to be in                             Honors); open to Freshman and Sophomores
          o PBS WILL BE OFFERED NEXT YEAR PENDING                     APPROVAL OF 2018-2019 BOE BUDGET
