Big6 Research Process

"The Big6 is a process model of how people of all ages solve an information problem."

 Step 1: Task Definition
(
What do I do?)
 Step 2: Information Seeking Strategies
(
What do I need?)
 Step 3: Location and Access
(
Where do I look?)
 Step 4: Use of Information
(
Write it all down!)
 Step 5: Synthesis
(
Put it all together...)

 Step 6: Evaluation
(
Check your work!)

The Big6  Rap

First, define your task.
Then, you can ask:

What should I use
to find answers and clues?

Where should I look?
Try in a book.
Or maybe yet,
Find it on the Internet!

Alright!  Read, write, even highlight.
Use the Big6 for more insight.

If you want to gain some knowledge that sticks,
You need to learn how to use the Big6!

Take your information and create
A way to best communicate.

Okay, you want to know how you rate
So take some time to evaluate.

Now you know just what to do.
Make the Big6 work for you!

If you want to gain some knowledge that sticks,
You need to learn how to use the Big6...  Peace!
