The changing earth is studied from an interdisciplinary viewpoint. Problem-solving and the scientific method are used to investigate physical science concepts such as energy
transformations, introduction to chemistry, electricity and the relationship between humans and their environment. Throughout this course, students will further their skills in laboratory activities,
technical writing, and problem solving by completing various investigations.

An in-depth study of important physical science concepts will be made during this course. Emphasis will be placed on the study of energy (including alternate energy sources), an
introduction to chemistry, and the interdependence between humans, their environment and society. The ability to use mathematical relationships will be relied upon as will the ability to
problem solve and to communicate ideas effectively both verbally and in written form.
Prerequisite: 8th grade math and 90 average in 8th grade science
