¡Hola! My name is Meghan Martin. I have been teaching Spanish for 12 years and this is my 10th year here at Bigelow. I fell in love with the Spanish language as a student in high school on an exchange trip to Betanzos, España. I continued to study Spanish through college, earning a Bachelor's degree in Spanish with a minor in Secondary Education and a Master's degree in Education and Spanish. Spanish has opened so many doors in my own life, enabling me to meet many wonderful people and travel to fantastic places. I continue to be enthusiastic in sharing my love and knowledge of the Spanish language and cultures with all of my students as well as my family. As an educator I have developed a passion for technology and am constantly using technology to enhance teaching and learning in my classroom.
My husband Chris and I are the proud parents of three beautiful daughters. Margaret (10) is in 4th grade, Lilian (7) is in 2nd grade, and Teresa (3) is in preschool at a two-way bilingual school where they are learning Spanish too! When the girls, work, and being a soccer/swim/dance/drama taxi are not keeping me busy, I love to spend time with family and friends, read, listen to country music, hike, swim and travel.
