Pilot 1, September – November 2011
During this phase Information Technology staff members will move to Google Apps. This group will test the migration tools and evaluate the experience.
During and directly following the IT Pilot Migration, there will be a feedback and evaluation period. Technical, configuration, and process decisions will be made along with identification of specific challenges, communication, and training and support needs. These findings will be applied to Pilot 2.
Pilot 2, November – December 2011
During this phase a specific and limited number of users, to be determined by IT, will migrate to Google Apps. These early adopters will be expected to be provide feedback to help fine tune aspects of the migration of all remaining faculty and staff.
Training, November 2011 – Post Go-Live
Online Introduction to Google Apps online training will be available to all faculty and staff from November 2011 through January 10, 2012. Information Technology has partnered with a Google-certified trainer to assist in developing a training strategy, develop training materials, and conduct training sessions both online and in-classroom. Classroom training sessions will be available during GOOGLE WEEK, January 17-22, 2012. [more on training]
Migration, January 3-17, 2012
The first stage of GroupWise data migration begins on January 3. During this pre-migration, your use of GroupWise will not be affected.
The final stage of the migration will take place over the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend, beginning the evening of Friday, January 13. GOOGLE DAY is Tuesday, January 17, 2012, when your new New School Google Apps for Education account will be ready to use. [more on the migration timeline]
GroupWise Disabled, February 29, 2012
You may continue to access your GroupWise account until February 29. After that, all GroupWise accounts will be disabled.
