We Begin at 9:30am Saturday, Nov. 20th with Breakfast!

Hello Pennsylvania! Are you ready to keep changing the world?
It's time for a full debriefing after the election and to ORGANIZE the ORGANIZERS!

Are you ready to learn and teach? Share and Network? Upgrade your skills and effectiveness? Be Re-inspired? Oh yes, it's time!

We want to see and hear from folks from all across the state of Pennsylvania who've been working on progressive issues and with progressive, electoral campaigns! That means you, Joe Sestak and Dan Onorato Campaigns! That means you, organizers from Marcellus Shale, Healthcare Reform, Pennsylvania Fair Housing, Greening, Environmental Justice and Historic Preservation, Jordan Miles to AFL-CIO (who brought us Michael Moore and Capitalism: A Love Story to Pittsburgh) to the G-20 Activists engaging in Citizen Journalism to highlight police brutality to those working on the Jordan Miles case to highlight the same, to those working on Women's Empowerment, Moms Rising and Fatherhood Support, to organizing around Veterans and Entrepreneurship, legislation around casinos, Marriage Equality, to Educational Reform and Equal Pay!

YOU ARE INVITED and WELCOME to ROOTSCAMP PENNSYLVANIA!

Since 2006, NOI has hosted RootsCamp, an "unconference
" where organizers set the agenda, share lessons learned and drive the conversation about best practices in organizing. Rather than panels and powerpoints, people have real live conversations about valuable organizing lessons taken from the field, both online and offline.

The RootsCamp “unconference” model allows organizers to meet and debrief in a way that promotes shared learning and engagement. Instead of the traditional panel discussion, the participants are the presenters! Participants not only take away lessons to apply to their own work, they establish lasting new partnerships with organizers from all over the nation.

By November 20th and 21th, 25 RootsCamps will take place all over the country, and right here in Pennsylvania we have an opportunity to discuss the successes and challenges facing progressive organizers! Join us, and let's plot the course forward.

What is an "unconference"?

It's the brainchild of the New Organizing Institute is a conference with a twist! There is no agenda, participants come ready to both lead and attend sessions!

RootsCamp Pennsylvania will bring together progressive organizers from across the state to share lessons learned, identify best practices, and move our work forward.  We hear you have a unique perspective to bring to this effort and would love to have you there.

Join us at RootsCampPA to:
  • Discuss the successes and challenges
  • Create a diverse, powerful gathering of passionate activists
  • Leave with a better network and more solutions
  • Be inspired, informed and armed with the tools you need
As organizers/activists across the state of Pennsylvania, we have seen first hand what a grass-roots effort can accomplish.
