Arthur Machen's Ecstasy, nonfiction, Issue 23, June 1, 2013
What themes do you like to write about? I like to write non-fiction about the occult and ritual magic. I like to write short fiction about transgression and horror.
What books and/or stories have most resonated with you as an author? Why? How do these stories and their characters find expression in your work? Thomas Ligotti is one author whose work has made a big impression on me. His weird shorts are both terrifying and awe-inspiring. William S Burroughs has written some of the most incredible fiction that I have ever read. I also love Georges Bataille for his sexy and politically motivated work. I hope that their influence charges my writing with the same visceral intensity.
