BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY DECISIONS, REMEMBER:

  • You should choose a course which suits your abilities, skills and interests.
  • You should choose as broad an education as possible to give you a strong position for the future. English, Mathematics and Science form a strong foundation for future education.
  • You should use all the expert advice you can get from a wide range of people.

WHO CAN HELP YOU IN MAKING SUBJECT DECISIONS? 

  •  Ask your Parent/Caregiver to read this information; then discuss it with them.
  •  Collect as much information as you can on all the subjects which interest you.
  • Visit the Careers/Transition Department in A2.
  •  Discuss your ideas with your subject teachers and your Form Teacher.
  •  Career Services: You can access careers information on subjects required for certain careers by visiting the website www.careers.govt.nz.  Career Services also operate a free phone advisory service offering careers information

More detailed information about subject choices and careers will be available

  1. At individual student interviews before courses are approved.
  2. Through the Careers/Transition Department.

 The final course will be approved by the Dean after consultation.
