The mission of New Covenant Academy’s Guidance and Counseling classroom curriculum is to support and enhance the learning process by helping all students in grades K-12 maximize their potential in three domains: personal/social, academic, and career development. As a college preparatory school, one of the vital roles of the school counselor is to assist students in planning for their post-secondary studies by guiding students and parents through the college admission process. The Guidance and Counseling Program at NCA is committed to advocating for all students by creating a collaborative partnership with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.

Coordinating academic or behavioral interventions
Assisting students who may be struggling with:
grief/loss of a loved one
feelings/emotions
anxiety
self-image
interpersonal and/or social skills
conflict resolution
Community referrals and resources for students and families (i.e. tutoring, counseling, etc.)
Coordinating referrals to Springfield Public Schools for Special Education services
