Heartland Behavioral Health Services

Welcome to the Nevada R-V @ Heartland website! The Nevada R-V School District provides the educational services for the kids in residential treatment at Heartland Behavioral Health Services. All of the residential students have the opportunity to attend classes from 8:00 a.m. until 2:05 p.m. each weekday. The residents also have the opportunity to attend summer school for 10 days and earn a 1/2 credit.

During the regular school year students have the opportunity to receive 6 credits consisting of the core subjects such as English, Math, Science, and Social Sciences. They also have the opportunity to choose health, speech, P.E., independent living, computer applications, and personal finance.

The Nevada R5 at Heartland campus also provides an alternate campus for Nevada R-5 School district students to find success who are struggling at their regular attendance center.

We utilize a program, Edgenuity, what we call Credit Recovery, for short. It is a computer based program that will allow students to recover high school credits that they may have lost.

Our goal is to give each student the opportunity to have a positive learning experience during their stay at Heartland.

Heartland Behavioral Health Services truly embraces a Trauma Informed Care Model.  The Nevada R5 at Heartland staff also participate in Professional Development and have regular training to help our staff also embrace Trauma Informed Care practices.  For more information, please visit the Missouri Trauma Informed Schools Initiative website.
