Congratulations to our Title 1 Reading Specialist, Mrs. Dilly, for recently receiving full funding at DonorsChoose.org for a classroom project called "Reading Buddies."  Click the picture to learn more!

We Help Our Community!


Benton staff members recently spent the afternoon playing games and visiting residents of the Joe Clark Assisted Living facility here in Nevada.  It was our way of trying to give back to our community!

Students in Mrs. Williams' classroom read the book Why Things Move, a story about force and motion.  They then made marshmallow shooters as a fun extension activity.  Don't shoot your eye out!

Math can be fun!  These students practiced finding area and perimeter after reading the book 
Spaghetti and Meatballs for All, and they used Cheez Its to do it!  Yum! 


Benton students really enjoyed this recent science lesson comparing the sizes of bubbles!


Positive Behavior is Awesome at Benton!

Benton students celebrated with a dance as reward for excellent behavior during the month of February.

These students earned a lunch with Mr. Smith because of their positive behavior!

Blue Tiger Paws

"Special" blue tiger paws are being handed out to students with excellent bathroom behaviors.  Prizes will be drawn daily to reward some of these students!

STAR Students

Senate Bill 638 required the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to create a website about the trauma-informed schools initiative that includes information for schools and parents.  Further, the law requires that each school provide the address of the website, created by DESE to "all parents of the students in its' district."  The address is:  http://motraumaschools.com
