Guidance

It is hard to believe that the end of the first semester is not far away.  For those of you who missed the financial aid meeting, there is a FAFSA tutorial on the Education Quest site.  Go to www.educationquest.org.  Just a reminder for the FAFSA, you can get your pin number by going to www.pin.ed.gov.  You and your senior will each need a pin number for filing online.  To file online, you will go to www.FAFSA.ed.gov.  Applications can be completed starting January 1st, the deadlines will vary depending on where your child is planning to attend college.

Even though your calendars are filling up, please take time to discuss possible college visit days with your senior.  Some colleges need to know a few weeks in advance.

Seniors should also be looking at applying to the colleges of their interest.  Students need to apply to colleges before they can apply for scholarships to that school.

Please push your child to fill out the scholarship search on the Education Quest site by going to educationquest.org.  There may be scholarships on this site that have not been brought to my attention.

Below is a list of scholarship deadlines that have recently come across my desk.  The scholarships in bold are the most recent ones I have received.
