Get Involved in NCPS Special Ed!

The Nelson County Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) is composed of parents of students who require special education services, other interested persons from the community, and educators in the field who have an interest in special education. This committee provides advice concerning unmet needs in the education of children with disabilities to the school division and assists in the formulation and development of long-range plans for these children. Any parent or individual who is interested is being a SEAC Representative is encouraged to complete the survey below or to attend meetings.

The information provided in this electronic application is sent to Kelly Hughes, the Director of Special Education. If you would rather not provide the information electronically, you can contact the school principal of the Nelson County Public School you are interested in representing on SEAC, print out this web page and fax to Kelly Hughes at (434) 260-7646 or mail this application to Kelly Hughes, Director of Special Education & Student Services, Nelson County Public Schools, PO Box 276, Lovingston, Virginia 22949. 

Special Education: 2013 Parent Involvement Survey 
All parents of school-aged children and youth who receive special education services in Virginia are encouraged to complete the Virginia Department of Education’s annual Parent Involvement Survey.
