Over the past nineteen years ISA has developed partnerships with a variety of schools from around the world. These partnerships provide invaluable opportunities for our students, teachers, and the entire ISA community to deepen our cultural understanding and knowledge of the world. One important element of these school partnerships are students exchange opportunities. We are currently seeking host families for visiting students from Korea, Japan, and Central America. Below are the hosting dates:
January 13-18: Korea (12 students and 2 teachers)
January 28-February 1: Central America (15 students)
February 9-12: Japan (16 students 2 teachers)
As a host family, you are asked to provide housing, meals, and cultural and family activities for our visitors. Students need not have a separate bedroom, but must have their own bed.
If your family is interested in hosting students this year, please complete this application as soon as possible or at the latest by Sunday, November 4, 2012. Guests are matched with families based on their English language ability, gender, age (when possible) and any allergies that they may have. Host families selected are asked to attend a hosting orientation meeting prior to the students’ arrival.
Complete all of the boxes to submit the application. You will see a screen notification only that your form has been submitted. No email will be sent to you after you submit. If you have any problems or questions, you may contact Pamela Valentine at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Japanese Exchange- Takayama Nishi High School
Takayama is located in the mountains west of Tokyo. The International School of the Americas has shared a rich history of experiences with Takayama Nishi High School. This small private high school has about six hundred students.
The exchange began after I participated in a Fulbright Memorial Fund Master Teacher Fellowship to Japan in the summer of 2000.
