A message from Mrs. Debelak:

Hello Students and Parents,

I hope you are ready for an exciting year at the middle school! I am looking forward to getting to know each of you.

A little about me- My husband and I live in Skandia and have five children.  The youngest just got married last year! We are expecting our first grandchild Sept. 8! I enjoy gardening, reading, and spending time outdoors.  If you see me out on the water, you will recognize me as the one in the blue Old Town canoe.  In the winter I snowshoe and cross-country ski.

Outside of school I volunteer at Brookridge Heights Assisted Living Center and help with a class at our church.  I also enjoy volunteering at Willow Farm for Therapeutic Riding.

At school, I am in 8th grade English classes, 7th grade Math and am the coordinator for the Peer Coach program at the High School. I am at the high school for 2 class periods and teach the Peer Coach class. I also enjoy following the activities that the students are involved in and try to attend if they let me know when things are going on.

Looking forward to a great year!

At the Eben Ice Caves with my husband.

Negaunee Middle School’s parent group (NMSPT3) is in desperate need of support.  Over the last few years, participation has declined to the point where we have very few members and are at risk of losing our parent group all together.
Although the time commitment for parents is minimal, the impact our parent group has on our students is irreplaceable.  The parent group provides funds for many events and projects throughout our school that would not be funded through any other means.  Some of these include:
  • Citizenship Trips

  • Dances

  • Wellness Activities

  • Field Trips

  • Technology

  • Special Projects

  • Classroom Supplies

  • M-STEP Snacks

  • Carnival Support

  • Student Prizes

Every single student at Negaunee Middle School benefits from the parent group!

Please consider joining us at the next NMSPT3 meeting in the teachers’ lounge.  We are hopeful to keep our parent group up and running for the students at Negaunee Middle School!
