ABOUT ME

I grew up in NH and graduated from Goffstown Area High School. In high school, I played 3 sports (field hockey, basketball, & softball). In 1994, I obtained my undergraduate degree in Physical Education at Springfield College. While at Springfield, I played softball. My Junior year in college, I was fortunate to spend a semester taking classes at the University of Brighton (Brighton Polytechnic), Eastbourne, England. While abroad, I started playing rugby and have been playing ever since. After graduating, I started teaching elementary physical education and health in Springfield, MA. In 1999, I obtained my M.S. from Springfield College in Teaching and Administration. I joined the wonderful teaching staff in the Needham Public Schools beginning in the fall of the 1999-2000 school year at Newman Elementary School. In 2005, I started teaching sophomore and senior classes at Needham High School. I am the head coach of the Needham High School Boys Rugby Club. I've just recently retired from playing competitive rugby, however manage to play at least 3 or 4 times a year. I spend most of my free time coaching, yet find time for all the things I enjoy, including: strength and conditioning (bootcamp), biking (road & trail), running, spinning, snowboarding, triathlons, hiking, and hot yoga. In 2009, I was honored to be named the Massachusetts Secondary Physical Education Teacher of the Year. I am the NHS Habitat for Humanity advisor and love dedicating myself to community service. I recently rescued a new little puppy, Roxie, and she joins my other dog Chex and my cat Tommy.
