SAT & ACT Information

SAT Information - NEB School Code 394288
  • Used as a college entrance exam.
  • Also known as SAT Reasoning Exam.
  • Taken in spring of the junior year.
  • Measures Reading, Writing/Language, & Math. The Reading and Writing/Language portions are combined for an overall score between 200 and 800. SAT also has an optional essay portion.  The MATH portion will also be on a scale of 200 to 800.   • Cost is $54.50 for SAT with the essay portion.  
  • Test results in approx. 5 weeks.
  • Offered at a number of local test centers on various Saturdays throughout the year(usually neighboring high schools such as Sayre, Troy, Wyalusing, etc.)
  • Create an online account and register at www.sat.collegeboard.com.  You will need an email address on file.  All important information including a copy of your admission ticket will be sent to this address. 
  • Can register well in advance of the chosen test date.

  • Fee waiver available from the school counselor for juniors and seniors receiving free and reduced lunch.
  • Additional, four college application waivers available for those that test using a fee waiver and should be sent to the student directly by electronic means.

ACT Information - NEB School Code 394288 
  • Used as a college entrance exam.
  • Taken in spring of the junior year.
  • Measures English, Reading, Math, Science & should be taken WITH the optional Writing portion. Each section (except Writing) scored between 1 and 40.  Average score in each section is approx. 20. 
  • $56.50 exam fee (with Writing).
  • Test results in approx. 6-8 weeks.
  • Offered at a number of local test centers on various Saturdays throughout the year (usually neighboring high schools such as Sayre, Troy, Wyalusing, etc.)
  • Create an online account and register at www.actstudent.org.  You will need an email address on file.  All important information including a copy of your admission ticket will be sent to this address.

The ACT will be held at NEB on April 19th.
All 11th grade students test for FREE and are expected to test unless they choose to opt out.
