Bread of Life Dinners
Every semester since Spring 2009, the Center has hosted a dinner discussion called Bread of Life, designed to provide an opportunity for them to reflect upon and discuss their attitudes toward beginning-of-life issues.

Catholic Culture Literature Series

The Center sponsors the Catholic Culture Literature Series, featuring four lectures meant to expose Notre Dame community to the richness of the Catholic literary heritage.

Evangelium Vitae Medal
The Notre Dame Evangelium Vitae Medal honors individuals whose outstanding efforts have served to proclaim the Gospel of Life by steadfastly affirming and defending the sanctity of human life from its earliest stages.

Fall Conference

The Center's flagship event is a 3-day conference held each fall at Notre Dame. These interdisciplinary conferences bring together world-renowned scholars, professionals, and students at all levels to consider some of the great cultural and moral issues of our time.


Integritas is a formation program for undergraduates, designed to help them integrate scholarship, spirituality and service in the Christian intellectual tradition.Through reading a common set of texts,and participating in the spiritual, social, and service activities sponsored by the Center, the students will grow into an intellectual community with a vibrant Christian spirit.

Medical Ethics Conference
Every year, the Center sponsors the Medical Ethics Conference to bring together health care professionals and experts in the field of medical ethics to discuss case studies that pose ethical dilemmas in various areas of clinical practice.

Notre Dame Vita Institute

The Vita Institute is an educational program designed to form the next generation of pro-life leaders. Held on the beautiful Notre Dame campus, the Vita Institute educates participants in the fundamentals of human life issues at the highest academic level.

Schmitt Lecture Series
Through the generosity of the Arthur J. Schmitt Foundation, the Center sponsors a lecture series meant to provide occasions at which the Schmitt Fellows, graduate students in the Colleges of Science and Engineering, can join with other members of the Notre Dame community to reflect on the ethical, political and religious dimensions of the studies in which they are engaged.
