'The Global Health Seminar is now a University of Notre Dame Center for Social Concerns Seminar. The Seminar consists of classes both pre- and post-immersion and experiences during the immersion that focus on Global Health and in particular Public Health in Honduras. Course readings and lectures emphasize the health issues that transcend national borders or have a global political and economic impact. The role and work of such organizations as the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), Millennial Development Goals, and the World Food Programme (WFP) will be analyzed in the seminar. The Global Health Seminar takes places at the Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos Ranch and Holy Family Surgery Center located about an hour from Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
