Service Requirements And Member Dues

Hour System:

Members are required to accumulate 10 hours per semester. One of these can be fulfilled with a passive project that only involves donating items such as toys, canned food, or can tabs. The rest of the hours can be fulfilled with meeting attendance and service points through participation in a service project.

Members are dropped from the organization if they do not pay the required dues or meet their service hour requirement. Members who do not meet their hour requirement in one semester will be placed on probation status; they must earn their regular point requirement, plus 2 additional hours, for the following semester to return to good standing.

Here are the current point requirements per semester unless otherwise specified:

Member in good standing - 10 Hours per Semester
Member on Probation - 12 Hours per Semester 
Graduating senior* - 5 
Hours per Semester
Graduating senior on probation* - 6 
Hours per Semester 
New Members - 12 Hours by December (end of fall semester)

*- 5/6 hours of service in the graduating semester, not year.

Ways to acquire points:

1 hour of service = 1 Hour
Participating in a passive project (donating cans, etc.) = a passive point (1 Hour), maximum of 3 Hours per semester
Participating in a project with GBP group = an additional Hour
Coming to a meeting = 1 Hour each
Leading your own service project = an additional Hour
You must complete 1 Hour in each of the following categories: GBP service event, GBP social event, GBP meeting.


The dues for each semester are $10 or $20 for the whole year. New Inductees must pay their one time national dues of $65 to be registered on the national roll for Gamma Beta Phi.

**For cords when a Gamma Beta Phi member graduates, he or she must have a 3.25 GPA.**
