Skip the Straw with the 2018 North Carolina Youth Ocean Conservation Summit!

North Carolina State University's Science House at the Center for Marine Sciences and Technology (CMAST) is hosting the 3rd annual NC Youth Ocean Conservation Summit on Saturday, February 24, 2018. The event will take place at the Duke University Marine Lab in Beaufort, North Carolina. The NC YOCS is open to students ages 11-18. Registration for this event is mandatory and there is a door fee of $30.**

  • Grant Writing
  • Science Communication Using Art
  • Oyster Reef Rehabilitation

This year's Keynote Speaker will be STRAWS filmmaker, Linda Booker. Linda is a water-loving traveler making documentaries that aim to inspire possibilities for a healthier planet. She also produced and directed “Bringing It Home,” an award-winning film about industrial hemp, and educational videos for Clean Jordan Lake and the City of Durham on the topics of litter and water pollution. Her company By the Brook Productions is based in Chapel Hill, NC. Following Linda Booker's presentation, event participants will have the special opportunity to view the film STRAWS.

**Entrance Fee Payment Information:
Registration for this event is mandatory and there is a door fee of $30. Please register and pay the entrance fee prior to January 24, 2018. The entrance fee may be paid by check mailed to NC Youth Ocean Conservation Summit at 303 College Circle, Morehead City, NC 28557. Please make the check out to "NC State University."
