“If I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

I completed a PhD in May 2015 at North Carolina State University Physics Department, advised by Dr. Bob Beichner with a research specialty in Physics Education Research.  I was hired at the University of Auckland  in New Zealand to spearhead the reform to their stage one courses. I proposed to bring active learning Studio Physics to the University of Auckland, to be one of the first university science reforms of this type in the country.  As a Professional Teaching Fellow, I've been involved with curriculum development and training efforts for instructors and teaching assistants.
