Welcome! Whether you navigated here with intention or found me by accident, take a look around to learn about me and my research.  Find out what makes me tick, what I do, and what I'm learning.  Thanks for visiting!
My ecological interests are many, spanning from natural communities, plants, birds, reptiles and amphibians, to aquatic ecosystems, wetlands, fish, and aquatic invertebrates.  I have incorporated these interests into my hobbies, my work, and daily life.
My latest endeavor has introduced me to the surprisingly fascinating world of freshwater mussels and snails.  They have made their way around the world - and into my heart - with a life history that is truly precarious and adventurous.  Did you know that mussels have been fishing long before humans roamed the earth?!  Have a look around and you, too, may be surprised by how exciting these 'rocks with guts' can be!
