For the January Monthly Meeting we'll be conducting a series of tours of the Odell Brewery and the sustainabiliy features they've incorporated in their new brewhouse expansion.  The expansion allowed Odell Brewing to incorporate new ways to more efficiently produce beer.  We'll also cover the existing and ongoing sustainability features and practices at the brewery.

The Program Directors of local nonprofit, Trees, Water & People, will discuss their experiences finding solutions to energy poverty in developing nations abroad and at home (Native American reservations).

As Trees, Water & People’s National Director, Lacey Gaechter primarily oversees the Tribal Renewable Energy Program, through which she coordinates the distribution of renewable energy systems to tribal families, organizes renewable energy training, and facilitates sustainable business development.  Sebastian Africano, Trees, Water & People’s International Director, first joined TWP in 2005 as a marketing intern for our clean cookstove program in Honduras. He returned to TWP in 2009 and currently manages our clean cookstove, cleantech and reforestation programs in Central America, and Haiti.

Come and learn the steps and tools you need to turn any old house into your new energy and water efficient home

This workshop will provide a step by step look at how to buy any home and make it energy efficient, or how to remodel your existing home to benefit both you and the environment throughout the life of the home.

This innovative workshop will include advice and support from a home energy efficiency expert, a green builder and an energy focused realtor.

Each participant will receive a walk through of what to look for in a home, what to avoid, what can be fixed easily and what are the best methods for making your future home as energy efficient as possible
