OC African-American Women's Health Symposium
“Mind Body Spirit”

The Orange County African-American Women’s Health Coalition (AAWHC) is a collaboration of community organizations, volunteers and community agencies that pool their resources to host a biennial health symposium. The symposium increases awareness about preventive measures and current status of health issues that affect African American women, their families and community.
The full day symposium is offers health screenings, health education workshops, keynote presentation, a health walk, exercise class, and health EXPO booths.
The symposium brings together stakeholders in delivering, facilitating or receiving health care and health education to improve the quality of health care for the African American and other underserved community members.The Orange County African-American Women’s Health Coalition is comprised of the Orange County Section of the National Council of Negro Women; Orange County Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; National Coalition of 100 Black Women – Orange County Chapter; County of Orange Health Care Agency; The G.R.E.E.N. Foundation; Susan G. Komen for the Cure-Orange County Affiliate; University of California, Irvine Healthcare; Pediatric Wellness; and WISEPlace. The AAWHC is open to all volunteers and organizations that are committed to the mission.
