North Brunswick Township Elementary Schools is offering after school enrichment classes in science and technology!

All classes are taught by certified North Brunswick Township Teachers


Transportation home is not offered.

Grades 2 & 3



Go Green: Students will use recycled materials to engineer their own toy car and then compete in a Recycled Racer Rally.

Hop to It: Students will engineer a humane trap to catch an invasive species.

Art: 
Students will explore art as a main focus and how it connects to the other components of STEAM through hands-on learning, problem-solving and creative use of various art media. Students will work with the Elements of Art and Principles of Design as they explore both 2-D and 3-D solutions to challenges.

Newscast:  Students will learn how to plan, record, and broadcast their own school news show using various iPad apps and experimenting with green screens.  Through the process, students will develop writing, sequencing, and speaking skills while increasing their knowledge of using the iPad for video recording and editing.


Grades 4 & 5

Newscast:  
Students will learn how to plan, record, and broadcast their own school news show using various iPad apps and experimenting with green screens.  Through the process, students will develop writing, sequencing, and speaking skills while increasing their knowledge of using the iPad for video recording and editing.

Sky's the Limit: Students dive into aeronautical engineering by designing models of flying technologies that help NASA collect aerial photographs. Students will learn that scientists and engineers often study harsh environments here on Earth to understand the environments they may encounter in space. 

Art:

Advanced Computer Coding: Students will learn the basics of the Scratch programming language, which is a free interface developed by MIT. Through the process of designing basic programs such as animations and interactive stories, students will develop problem solving and sequencing skills. **Must have previous coding experience.**


Each program will meet once per week for 8 weeks at a cost of $100 per child.
