Math

Encouraging your child to think positively about learning math can be extremely helpful in the learning process.  Show your child that math is fun!  Provide your child with opportunities to do some of the following activities:

  • Measure ingredients for a recipe
  • Find appropriate number and problem-solving games to play
  •  Play board games that involve counting or patterns
  • Use dice or playing cards to make practicing math facts fun
  • Look for shapes and patterns in real life
  • Ask your child to count change at the grocery store
  • Point out ways math is part of "real" life: money, computers, music, art, construction, cooking

Math is all around us, every day.
