Welcome to Lemon Bay NJROTC's Website!


    The Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) was established in 1964 under authority of Public Law passed by the U.S. Congress. The NJROTC program is administered by the Naval Service Training and Command (NSTC) and locally supervised by the NJROTC Area Seven Manager located in New Smyrna Beach, FL.

    The goals of the NJROTC program are to provide an opportunity for secondary school students to learn about the basic elements and requirements for national security and their personal obligations as American citizens. Specifically, the NJROTC program has the following objectives:

  1. To promote patriotism.
  2. To develop informed and responsible citizens.
  3. To promote habits of orderliness and precision.
  4. To develop a high degree of personal honor, self-reliance, individual discipline, and leadership.
  5. To promote an understanding of the basic elements and requirements for national security.
  6. To develop respect for and an understanding of the need for constituted authority in a democratic society.
    For more than 30 years, Lemon Bay High School NJROTC has distinctively served Charlotte County. Each year the unit provides thousands of hours of community service in direct support of it’s many groups and organizations such as the American Legion, VFW, Rotary Clubs and Wounded Warriors just to name a few. The unit holds several fund raising events throughout the year to help offset the cost of attending Drill Competitions, Orienteering Competitions and field trips to educational and military facilities including Naval Air Station Jacksonville and Naval Station Mayport. The unit has earned numerous awards for its valued service and precision drill performances over the years, including Unit Achievement and Most Improved Unit awards.
