Video is often key to any multimedia project you are developing.  Below are links to websites that provide copyright-friendly video resources you can use in your projects.  Most of the content is in the Public Domain or have Creative Commons licenses, but make sure you check the licence for the exact file you are using.

Creative Commons Search Use the Creative Commons Search to find video files (and other content) from a variety of websites that you can legally use in your projects.  This is a page you should consider bookmarking and is a great place to start your search.  Look for the resources that say "Media."  Free
Archive.org Check out Archive's movies and film library. This library contains over 1.2 million  free digital recordings ranging from archival news programming, to early 20th century films, and commercials from the past.  Often these clips make good b-roll for videos you are creating. The Sub-Collections area on the Moving Image Archive page is a good place to begin your search.  Free
NASA GalleriesNASA maintains multiple galleries that are valuable sites for finding scientific video including the NASA Multimedia Video Gallery and NASA Solar System Multimedia. Free
