Welcome to your 5th grade math/science adventure!

I'm very excited to meet you and welcome you to 5th grade.
This year we will be studying the History of numbers, Multiplication and Division, Decimals, Fractions, Algebra, Metric numbers and measurement, Geometry, Volume and Integers, in math, and Weather, Solar System, Magnetism, Matter and Energy, Electricity, and Ecosystems, in science.

Please bring your TenMarks Summer Math Certificate to school or you can email it to me, by Friday, September 2nd.

Think about what you would
like this year to be for you. And together we will set you on your way to discovering more about
yourself and your world. You can let me know how it is going for you by email, a note, or by talking
to me at school. We will help you develop a nice balance of practice, fun, and challenge.

This is my 14th year teaching 5th grade at Wilson. I am married with two grown daughters.
Alycia is in college at Lesley University in Cambridge. And Erin is in college at Hobart and
William Smith in Geneva, NY.  This summer I traveled to North Carolina with my family. We explored the Shenandoah Valley, Asheville, and Cape Hatteras. I enjoy quilting, hiking, and meditation.
