Early Childhood Task Force: This task force was created to open the lines of communication between the early childhood partners in the district and the Northampton Area School District. Previously, there was little contact between these two groups, but now with the creation of the Early Childhood Task Force, we meet at least four times a year. These meetings are open forums where discussion is encouraged and partnerships are created and fostered. Ultimately, because of this group, we are better able to serve our students as they enter into Kindergarten prepared for the challenges they face.
Kindergarten Orientation Program: Strategies for Success: Caring for Yourself and Your "Little One" is a program offered to parents of Kindergarten students in the Northampton Area School District. The program will focus on the transition to Kindergarten, School Anxiety, and even How to Study at Home with Your Children. The program is free and all parents are encouraged to attend to help their children reach academic success.
Introduction to the Keystones to Opportunity (KtO) Initiative: During the in-service training for the 2012-2013 school year, a PowerPoint presentation was created to educate the faculty and staff on the purpose of KtO and the benefits of the initiative for our district. The presentation was provided for all district employees in all buildings.
