to Napier Civic Choir

Napier Civic Choir is an all-comers choir of enthusiastic singers who enjoy works by great composers under Music Director José Aparicio.  

Established in 1967, Napier Civic Choir’s principal purpose is the performance of a varied choral repertoire, including sacred works and light opera.  Performances feature the choir, local, national and international soloists and Hawke's Bay Orchestra.

The choir's most popular performances have included: Handel’s Messiah, Verdi’s Requiem, Jenkins’ The Armed Man (A Mass for Peace), J S Bach’s St John’s Passion, Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Oratorio and Haydn's Creation. 

The choir warmly welcomes newcomers. The current membership is around 85 singers. The choir is a member of the NZ Choral Federation.
