Nescire autem quid ante quam natus sis acciderit, id est semper esse puerum. Quid enim est aetas hominis, nisi ea memoria rerum veterum cum superiorum aetate contexitur?

But to be ignorant of what occurred before you were born is to remain always a child. For what is the worth of human life, unless it be woven into the life of our ancestors by the records of history?

Marcus Tullius Cicero, Brutus 34.120

Salve! Hello.  As Cicero says it is important to learn about the past. The vestiges of Greece and Rome are all around us and by learning Latin we learn how our ancestors influenced the world.
This is my 11th year at Floyd Central and my second year teaching Latin full time. It is my greatest desire to share my love of ancient culture with all of you.  I have a Master's degree from Indiana State in Humanities with the focus in classical cultures and I have taught Latin for over 10 years
Salvete Parentes!  This site will help keep update on the happenings in the Latin department at Floyd Central.  Each class page includes a syllabus for the class and a calendar linked to google classroom assignments.
